Tupelo, MS, the birthplace of Elvis Presley, will host its first Annual Youth Singing Contest. Music education scholarships, and many other exciting prizes, will be awarded for each age grouping.
Singing with The King™ is an open talent contest for all youth who would like to sing, and potentially win, music/voice scholarships to further their vocal talent endeavors. The three categories competing will be Grade 5 and under, Grade 6 through 8, and Grade 9 through 12. The winner of these categories will be chosen by voice capability. Participants may sing original or a previously released, mainstream song. For original songs, we will highlight and select an additional winner who will be chosen from all entries of originally written songs which are submitted.
Registration is FREE!
All participants are required to submit (upload) an audio track. You may sing your chosen song either with instrumentation, a track, or a capella. Your song may be either a song you have written or an already published song which you simply wish to sing to showcase your singing talent. Your song must be UNDER 4 minutes in length. You are permitted to enter one song only. Song vocals must be performed individually (no duo or groups). NOTE: If you submit a song which has been professionally recorded please know that in the finals you will be singing live, and you will not be allowed to add various reverb or electronic voice enhancements during the final performance.
All Singers and/or Songwriters are welcomed. As mentioned above, you may enter this contest singing any song of your choice. If you are an aspiring songwriter you may submit an original song. For you to win the songwriter portion of the contest, your song entry must not be co-written with a published writer, attached to a publisher, or released by record label. NO PROFANE LANGUAGE ALLOWED.
Please upload your song entry below and click the button to designate whether you are entering as a singer or as a singer-songwriter.
The deadline for submissions will be Thursday, Jan 31st 2019. Semi-Finalist will be chosen and listed on this site by Thursday, Feb 21, 2019. Semi-Finalist will then have three weeks to prepare for the finals which will be live at the Link Centre in Tupelo MS on Saturday, March 23, 2019. The winners from each category will be asked to perform their winning song they sang for the contest. We invite anyone and everyone to attend the Singing with The King™ event which will take place on March 23rd. The event is open to the general public. So invite everyone you know!
